This faceplate fits onto the front of the Medela Pump In Style Advanced Breastpump. It protects the rubber diaphragm underneath, and is the place where the tubes and AC adapter (or battery pack) attach to the breastpump.  As shown in the photograph, this faceplate has "Pump In Style Advanced Breastpump" printed in black, across the top.
Also, Look at the number of connection points on the back of the faceplate (the small circles that are the points that actually attach it to the base).  This faceplate has three attachment points.  Notice, this faceplate has a fourth circle that has a + inside it.  Ensure the faceplate you  are replacing matches this exactly.

To remove the faceplate pull up on the small lip in the right side of the faceplate - it should unsnap from the base.

ME87213 tubing is designed to work with this faceplate.

Comparison of this old style faceplate with current faceplate:

FRONT:

Lettering: This faceplate has black words, reading "Pump In Style Advanced Breastpump" over the diaphragm cap, while the current faceplate has grey words reading "medela" on the top of the faceplate and "pump in style advanced" to the right of the diaphragm.

Ports: This PISA faceplate has two ports that extend out of the faceplate on the right of the diaphragm with no internal part sticking out, while the current faceplate has two ports below the diaphragm with smaller cones sticking out of them.

BACK:

Cross: This faceplate has a piece sticking out on the left side of the back that looks like a cross, which corresponds to a space on the actual pump motor. The current PISA has no such cross piece or space for it to go.

Attachment Points: This faceplate has three attachment points around the diaphragm, while the current PISA faceplate has four.
